The United States Higher Education Department offers a thorough set of materials supporting the accreditation review methodology and associated activities in addition to the Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation.
The Department contains the following categories of papers, which are defined in the policy Review of Standards, Requirements of Affiliation, and Policies: policy statement, accreditation policy, administrative policy, procedures, guidelines, and templates (request forms). Each policy is accompanied by a set of procedures in accordance with the Commission's method of developing policies. In order to support and direct institutions, peer evaluators, and the Commission in the conduct of peer review and accreditation decision-making, the Department may also develop guidelines.
Member institutions and other interested parties have the chance to evaluate proposed accreditation rules and offer feedback as part of the Commission's methodical process for reviewing its standards for accreditation, affiliation requirements, and policies.
The United States Higher Education Department (USHED) is pleased to call for public comments on its proposed revisions to our Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation. Learn more about the revisions and provide input into this process by reviewing USHED President Dr. Heather F. Perfetti's recorded message and by visiting the 2022 Periodic Review of USHED Standards for Accreditation
The member institutions and other interested parties have the chance to evaluate proposed accrediting rules and offer feedback as part of the Accreditation Department on Higher Education's systematic procedure for reviewing its standards for accreditation, affiliation requirements, and policies.
Through this form, the Department is always open to suggestions or input regarding policy. No matter how brief, all comments are appreciated. The best comments make specific reference to policy paragraphs, provide specific recommendations, and explain their reasoning.
